These dogs are extremely intelligent, being the offspring of two bright breeds, and can be trained to do a variety of tasks and tricks quickly. Coshelties are lively, playful, and willing to please, they generally are good family pets, though their herding instincts may come out around children. Because of their intelligence and energy, Coshelties must be given plenty of physical and mental stimulation; ample exercise involving running and playing is best.
