A Schnau-Tzu dog is a hybrid, being a cross between a Miniature Schnauzer and a Shih-Tzu. These are small dogs, weighing only 7-15 lbs as adults, and having a life expectancy between 12 and 15 years. They are characterized physically by their shaggy fur, short legs, and floppy ears, and are colored black, brown, white, salt and pepper, or gray.

Behaviour and Personality

Schnau-Tzus are extremely intelligent and trainable, and are very friendly toward people and other dogs, which makes them ideal as household pets, even around younger children. They tend to be very playful, and enjoy exercising with family members, although they do not make particularly good watchdogs.
