The Turkish Van is one of the larger domestic cats with its muscular well-built body. Its athletic body, strong legs and massive paws allow them to be good jumpers. Its coat is typified as being as soft as cashmere and it is naturally water resistant. The Turkish Van cat is mostly white with some colored spots on the head, tail or legs. Other colors seen in the breed are red, cream, black, blue, tabby in red, cream, brown and blue, and various shades of tortoiseshell. Personality: The Turkish Van is very agile and active and has been described as loyal and talkative. They are very clever and get bored easily, so it's important to keep them entertained with toys. This breed loves to swim and water and is therefore also called the swimming cat. They are very affectionate and playful, but also demand a lot of attention. The Turkish Van gets on well with dogs.
