What’s Not Covered

Our plans have some exclusions to help keep premiums low.  To be very transparent, we wanted to tell you what we do not cover.

Inhumane Treatments

Our pet insurance doesn’t cover elective procedures such as tail docking, ear cropping or claw removal.

Pre-existing conditions

Pre-existing conditions are conditions that occur before coverage begins or during a waiting period. These conditions are not covered unless they have been cured and treatment-free for 180 days. Waiting periods apply for illnesses (14 days), and ligament and knee conditions such as Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) (12 months).

Dental Treatments

We will not pay for costs associated with aesthetic, cosmetic, endodontic, or orthodontic dental services such as caps, crowns or crown amputation, fillings, implants and root canals or planning.

Please note that this is not a complete description of all coverage terms, conditions or exclusions.  Learn more about our pet insurance coverage by viewing our sample plans.
