Bugg

The bugg originated in the United States. Because it is a hybrid, or designer, dog, it is difficult to pinpoint its exact date of origin. The breed is a cross between the Boston terrier and the pug.

Like pugs and Boston terriers, the bugg is a relatively small, stocky dog. Most buggs more closely resemble Boston terriers than pugs. If you know what a Boston looks like, picture one with slightly shorter legs and a muzzle that is more pushed in. Buggs are typically black but may be found in brindle. These dogs are a sturdy lot; don’t let the small stature fool you. If you are looking for a big dog attitude in a small dog body, this may be the breed for you. Personality: The Bugg is typically a sweet dog with a high affection for humans. As with any mixed breed of dog, you cannot be sure if you will be getting the best or worst traits of its ancestors. In general, both pugs and Boston Terriers have a joy for life that is infectious. An ideal Bugg will be accepting of other pets, friendly towards people of all ages, and moderately trainable. Buggs tend to be rambunctious and playful, requiring an experienced owner to bring out their best qualities.

Medium Maintenance

Pugs shed almost constantly, and Boston terriers shed very little. Whether your bugg will need frequent grooming depends on the traits it gets from its parents. It is always better to plan on needing to do more than you actually do. Consider that you may need to brush your bugg every day with a rubber brush or curry comb.

Like any dog, buggs only need to be bathed when they get dirty or smelly.

Establish an ear cleaning and toenail cutting routine. Both of these things should be done about every four weeks. If your bugg allows it, daily teeth brushing will help to prevent dental disease.
