Any awkwardness or unawareness of movements or size in your dog or cat, is also known as clumsiness. This is a symptom that does not always have to be a cause of concern. However, when your cat or dog is showing consistent, and unusual clumsiness, it can be a sign that your pet suffers from blindness. It is therefore advised to consult a veterinarian in case of unusual clumsiness.
How to Recognize
Stumbling, falling down, and running into people or objects are signs of clumsiness.
While a little clumsiness is not necessarily a cause for concern, it can be a sign of blindness. Trauma, degenerative diseases, infections, inflammation, anemia, and electrolyte imbalances can also cause clumsiness in pets.
Your veterinarian will examine your pet\'s eyes and may run blood and urine tests. Vets may also take an X-ray, MRI or CT scan.
Treatments vary depending on the underlying condition.
