Cats and dogs can have an itch because of an allergic reaction, infection, a neurogenic condition, or parasites. Itching is a sensation localized on the skin of your pet. While all pets itch, constant itching is usually sign your pet is uncomfortable or distressed.

If left untreated, incessant itching can cause a hot spot, which is a red, wet area on your dog that is often irritated and sore. If your pet is suffering from parasites, be sure to wash your pet\\\'s bed and any other material they may have rubbed against. Several medications exist to fight off parasites.
