Low Tolerance to Cold

While some pets may not be able to tolerate cold temperatures due to a lack of hair or body fat, other dogs and cats experience a low tolerance to cold because of an underlying illness. Perhaps the most common reasons that pets may develop a low tolerance to cold is hypothyroidism and thyroid disease. However, kidney disease and chronic anemia can cause cold intolerance in dogs and cats as well.
