The pet has a sensation of unease and discomfort in the upper stomach with an involuntary urge to vomit. Nausea is a common condition in pets, and it can be caused by several different health issues. Since some of these issues can be quite serious, dogs and cats that are experiencing nausea should see a veterinarian right away. A sample of the issues that can cause dogs and cats to develop nausea include pregnancy, motion sickness, dietary issues, internal parasites, poisoning, eating too quickly and various diseases.
How to Recognize
If your pet is vomiting or has diarrhea, he/she is probably also feeling nauseas. Other signs of nausea include lethargy, fever, reduced interest in activity and a decreased appetite.
Nausea may be due to parasites, bloat, heatstroke, or an underlying infection or disease. Your pet may feel nausea due to the side effects of a medication or the ingestion of toxins or spoiled food.

Your veterinarian may recommend antibiotics or a softer diet to treat your pet\\\'s nausea.
