The dog or cat has acne-like lumps; these red pustules (also known as pustules) are tiny bumps on the skin that are filled with pus. Pustules form when the bodies of dogs and cats attempt to fight various fungal or bacterial infections. Some conditions that may cause red pustules in pets include contact dermatitis, pelodera (damp hay itch), flea allergy dermatitis, food allergy dermatitis and scabies.
