Do Carriers Drop a Pet After a Certain Age?

PetPremium answers your questions about insuring your senior pets.

Many owners are concerned that their pet will be dropped from its insurance when it reaches a certain age, but with PetPremium, your pet will never be dropped due to senior status. PetPremium wants to help keep your pet happy, healthy and protected at every age.

Do Carriers Drop Older Pets?

The average lifespan of a dog depends on the breed and can range anywhere from 8 to 18 years, though most dog’s lifespan is approximately 13 years. Cats tend to live longer than dogs, and have an average lifespan of 15 years, though their lifespans can range from 7 to 22 years depending on the breed.

At PetPremium, you can sign up your pet for health insurance as early as 8 weeks old and there is no age limit above 8 weeks! You can register your pet for Accident-Only coverage or TOTAL COVERAGESM insurance. Learn more about our coverage plans here.

Just like people, animals tend to get sick more easily as they get older. Treatments can get expensive, so PetPremium will never drop dogs or cats as they get older.
